اما پلیس افغانستان گفته که این هلی‌کوپتر در نزدیک پایگاه نظامی بگرام در شمال کابل، که نیروهای آمریکایی در آن مستقر هستند، سقوط کرده است.

گفته شده که شماری از قربانیان این سانحه سربازان ترکیه‌ هستند، اما این موضوع هنوز رسما تایید نشده است.

ارتش ترکیه با صدور اطلاعیه‌ای گفته که تحقیقات در مورد این سانحه آغاز شده است.
